CPG Biotics recruited CLC Design Studio to assist it with site analysis and test fits of potential sites for their cannabis dispensary project. CLC Design Studio was presented with a historic building/storefront opposite the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville that was nestled in a revitalized part of the city.

Historic buildings, while beautiful and providing an area with character, come with them the challenge of limitations in what can be modified on the original design. CLC Design Studio took these limitations and turned them into assets redesigning around their brickwork that was required to remain intact and blended into the new building style. Additionally, due to the area’s unique topography and the protected storefront, the second floor of the building presented the only viable means of entry for use as a dispensary. An innovative floor plan was developed that placed the entrance in the rear of the building and provided a spacious and inviting reception area, consult rooms ,and a retail dispensary area with display cases located in the middle of the space – while still accommodating the secure delivery area and more importantly maintaining the integrity of the building’s historical features.
